Tracy’s heart was as big as the world she loved to travel in. No one can say that she didn’t get the most out of every life experience. She embraced friends and family in every aspect of her life. Tracy started her connection to aviation with Pacific Coastal Airlines at Cassidy Airport right after graduating from Nanaimo Secondary School. After an adventure full and successful 25 years she retired from Air Canada Jazz in 2003. Following her retirement at Jazz and after enjoying her many travels around the world she came back to roost right here at Boxwood Avenue in Nanaimo with West Coast Helicopters as the base the dispatcher/receptionist.
During her time with us she always brought her game face to the highest level working in our ever changing, ever demanding environment. Through aviation Tracy met and fell in love with Mike Thompson, a Twin Otter pilot, who shared her passion for travel and through his work they were able to continue to experience many new places and develop many new friendships.
Tracy was an active Nanaimo community supporter throughout her life from her days with the Nanaimo Realty Marching Band, her bathtub racing which, by the way, brought home many trophies, and onto being a member of the New Generation Chorus, the Altrusa Club, the Chamber of Commerce and eventually a fundraiser for the fight against the very disease that took her from us far too early.
Tracy fought a valiant and long fight against Cancer, the same disease that unfortunately took her husband only a couple of years earlier as well as many of her close family members.
