Peter has worked in the aviation industry for over 44 years, He started with the Canadian military in 1968 and progressed into civil aviation in 1975 with Okanagan/Canadian Helicopters in Port McNeill. In 1994, he co-founded West Coast Helicopters in Port McNeill. Although Peter’s main work is the day to day operations of the four bases and 11 helicopters, he still flies approximately 250 hours per year.
As Peter often says “my passions are flying, fishing and people…what better place to be!”

Terry has accumulated over twenty eight years experience in the aviation industry since his degree in aircraft maintenance in 1980. While working with CHL and 3rd parties (DND and Gov’t of Mainland China) he acquired extensive field experience on many aircraft as well as heavy maintenance and supervisory experience at the main facility in Vancouver. As General Manager for West Coast Helicopters, Terry deals with the day to day office issues as well as related activities such as company growth projects, capital projects and expenditure control.

Doug has worked in the helicopter industry for close to 30 years. Over that period he has acquired experience in search and rescue, medical evacuation, aerial application, fire suppression, heliski, helifishing and mountain flying. Doug began his career top of his class with the military and after 14 years transitioned to the civil aviation. In 2005, Doug returned to West Coast Helicopters and served as the Chief Pilot for 9 years. He is now the CASO and company Safety Management System developer/programmer.

After graduating with top honours from British Columbia Institute of Technologies in 1989 as an aircraft maintenance engineer, Richard joined Canadian Helicopters as a field engineer in 1989. West Coast Helicopters hired Richard in 1996 to fill the role of Chief Engineer. Richard’s responsibilities include co-coordinating and supervising fleet maintenance, scheduling and acquiring new maintenance personnel.

Dee has worked in the finance and accounting profession for over 38 years, mainly in public practice chartered accountants firms, specializing in small business reporting and taxation. She received her CGA designation in 2003. In 2007 she was hired by West Coast Helicopters as the financial controller at their head office in Port McNeill. Dee oversees all aspects of the company’s financial activities.

Company Chief Pilot
Dave came to West Coast Helicopters in the fall of 2007. Prior to this move Dave developed his extensive helicopter aviation knowledge with Vancouver Island Helicopters, Helifor and the Canadian Coast Guard. Dave’s well rounded experience in helicopter operations includes mining, fire fighting and all aspects of forestry work, aerial application, aerial construction, precision longlining, heli-logging and tourism flying.

Laine gladly accepted the position of Operations Manager at West Coast Helicopters in 2014. Prior to this move, Laine was both the Base Engineer and Base Manager at our Campbell River Base. Laine has twenty four years experience working on Bell Jetrangers, Airbus Astars and Robinson R22/44 helicopters.
